As a young child, I read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and was enthralled by the incredible imagination of Roald Dahl. The book is now 50 years old, and cake artists worldwide came together to celebrate the anniversary as only they can - with cakes, cookies, and edible sculptures.
I was thrilled to be a part of this special collaboration. For my selection, I presented hand-painted shortbread cookies featuring Charlie Bucket (as depicted in Quentin Blake's original story artwork) and Augustus Gloop (looking rather like an obese Dennis the Menace). The cookies were decorated with royal icing and edible food paints.

I really like this entry Shelley. It shows the simplicity of doing what you love, connected to something from "your story". Truly a mix of work for the sake of joy...an appropriately named blog.
